Your roof is the first line of defense against the elements and should it start to fail then wind and rain will get past it and not only start to further lift the elements of the roof but also penetrate the structure of the property and start to cause damage, particularly water damage through beams, ceilings, and walls. So roof repairs are best done promptly before more damage means more expensive repairs later down the line.
When to Repair
You might think that's obvious – when there's damage, but while we hope you'd call us straight away if you saw that storm damage for example had lifted shingles or that flashing was flapping in the wind the hidden danger is that some roof damage can go undetected. Take a good look at your interior ceilings and if you see any signs of staining in corners or mold in winter then you need to check your roof. It really doesn't hurt to go into the attics during a rain storm either to see if there are any visible leaks from the inside. If you see drips, or if there are shining nails visible (called shiners they get their name from the fact that they will be white with frost in winter) then there is a problem up top.
Best way to know whether your roof needs repair is to schedule and inspection. We do inspections for a number of reasons including due diligence on the part of potential house buyers and damage or status reports for insurance companies. But we also do regular maintenance inspections for our clients that mean they don't have to worry about spotting subtle signs, or risk their necks trying to get roof access, or simply waste their time on something best left to the professionals. We will spot roof repairs before they even happen and proactively get to work on fixing them. We have the ladders, platforms and access tools necessary to get up there and take a close look and for large scale commercial roofing ask us about our drone based inspections for fast and accurate surveys of larger areas.
You've probably heard the story that after storms roofing companies hike the cost of fixing roofs. Well we don't. You can call and ask us about our costs at any time. What we do however is get busy responding to our client call outs to get those roofs fixed and fast before the next storm comes along and builds on the trouble the first one managed to cause.
We know what we're doing so we guarantee our repairs. That includes major work replacing roof segments and damaged shingles as well as replacing flashing, vent boots, and using flexible spray techniques to get into hard to access nooks and angles to make your roof bulletproof again. Whether it's your home that got roughed up by the weather, or a commercial property that simply has to be operational again for the next working day we are on hand to repair that damage as fast as humanly possible.
